I took Bella to her pediatrician yesterday because she still wasn't feeling better. She has been waking up several times during the night, barely eating, and her gums are swollen and red and she has canker sores all in her mouth. The doctor said that she has a herpes infection in her mouth. Basically its the same infection that causes people to get cold sores on the outside of their mouths. Since its a virus, there's not much that can be done for it - it has to run its course. She prescribed her Tylenol with Codeine to help with the pain so she can drink fluids and stay hydrated.
She is so cranky and worn out most of the day. Here she is at lunch today. All she would eat was applesauce and they she feel asleep in her highchair.
Fortunately (and fingers crossed he stays that way!) Jack isn't sick. He kept saying today, "I wish we could help Bella with the sores in her mouth." How sweet is that!? When he saw me taking pictures of Bella after she had fallen asleep in the highchair he wanted me to take his picture. Here he is pretending to fall asleep in his highchair.
