The First Day of School

Yesterday was Jack's first day of preschool at Our Lady of Bethlehem.  His teacher's name is Miss Gina and the teacher aide's name is Miss Janelle.  He did so well.  As I was leaving after I dropped him off I heard him say to a girl in his class, "Hi, I'm Jack.  What's your name?"  So sweet!  Enjoy these pictures of his first day.

Livin' It Up

Tomorrow is Jack's first day of pre-school!  We have been living up our last few days of summer.  On Monday we went to the zoo.  Here are Jack and Bella riding the train.

Today we went to COSI.  Teddy had his first experience in the baby water table. 

This morning at breakfast, I moved Jack out of the highchair and to the "Big Boy" table and moved Teddy out of the Bumbo and into the highchair.  Poor Bella stayed in her same highchair - she wasn't pleased with me, but she will have her day to move before we know it!

First Things First

This past weekend we had a lot of "firsts" in our house.

On Friday, I gave Teddy some water in a sippy cup for the first time.

He enjoyed shaking the cup more than drinking it.

He did take a couple of sips of it.

Aaron attempted to teach Jack how to roller blade.  We think it would be easier for him to learn how to roller skate first.  (He had a lot trouble staying balanced.)

Teddy sat up by himself and played with Bella in her bed for the first time she woke up from her nap.

I'm On a Boat

Today we went on a tour of the replica of the Santa Maria on the Scioto River downtown.  The tour itself was a little over Jack and Bella's heads, but they had a fun time looking at the boat.  Before we went on the tour, we made a stop at the fountains at North Bank Pavilion.

I can't forget Mr Teddy even though he slept during our visit to the Santa Maria and the fountains!  Here he is "reading" a book before we left today.

The Great Outdoors

Because it was such a beautiful day outside today and I had the carpets cleaned we played outside most of the day.  Here is everyone looking cool in their shades right before we went outside.

Big Guy

Today was Teddy's six month check up.  Teddy weighs 20 pounds, 7 ounces.  He is in the 90th percentile for weight.  He is 27 1/4 inches tall which is the 75th percentile for height.  Needless to say, Teddy is a big boy!  He got three vaccinations and he was cranky the rest of the day.  Here he is watching Bella and Teddy play in the pool.

Bella and Jack had a great time playing in the pool with each other today.

And Bella loved fixing Jack's hair after their dip in the pool.

Guess Who's Back?

I am going to make a real effort to start blogging every day again.  The kids are hitting some big milestones and I want to document them.  In the meantime here is what we have been up to...

We have been looking pretty cute!

 We've been loving Vinnie and Gabbie!

 We've been enjoying feeding the ducks.

We've been making each other laugh.

We've kind of fallen off the potty training wagon.  We will try again in a little while - I don't think she quite "gets" it yet.  Bella has been sleeping in a big girl bed for a month now.  One milestone at a time I guess! :)

Look at my big boy on the scooter!  He starts preschool next week.  How can he be starting school next week?!  I just brought him home from the hospital!  More about my Mommy sadness about this next week...

 Teddy turned 6 months old this past weekend!  He has his check-up today.  I'm excited to see how much he has grown.  Here he is trying to hold his bottle. I'm still breastfeeding him, but it would be a nice break if he could feed himself a bottle every once in awhile.

Potty Training Boot Camp, Part 2

Today was Bella's first day of Potty Training Boot Camp.  You might remember this post when I started potty training Jack.  I'm doing the same approach with Bella . 

As soon as she woke up, I put her on the potty.  (That explains the messy hair and sleepy face.  When she's 16 she's going to hate that I put this picture of her on the Internet.)

When she went on the potty she got to put some coins in her piggy bank.

She was so excited to tell Teddy that she went on the potty!

She started the day off so well- no accidents until lunch. She had a total of four accidents, but she pooped in the potty twice!  By the end of the day we were both exhausted. I'm not sure if she is really ready or not, but we will try again tomorrow and see how she does.
